About Halalich

Why Halalich exists

Finding genuinely certified halal meat in Germany takes real effort — tracking down a trusted butcher, making the trip, hoping they have what you need that day. For South Asian Muslim families and students in Germany, "halal" on a label isn't always enough; zabiha is the standard that actually matters, and it isn't always easy to verify.

Halalich exists to remove that friction without cutting corners on what matters. We're building Germany's halal marketplace — starting with certified meat and groceries, delivered in Berlin.

How we verify every vendor

No vendor goes live on Halalich without clearing three checks:

  1. Halal certification — valid, current documentation from a recognised certifying body, reviewed before listing.
  2. Zabiha verification — confirmation that certification specifically covers the zabiha standard, not just a general halal label.
  3. Hygiene validation — storage, handling, and freshness standards checked before a vendor goes live.

Where we deliver

Halalich currently delivers in Berlin, with orders from Sakhi Halal Foods (meat) and Bakhala (groceries) arriving every Thursday. See our Berlin delivery page for coverage.
